grown in a forest-style garden at 1,046 meters
High in the misty mountains of southern China lies a tea garden unlike any other. This is Shuangjiniangshan, a place quietly brought to life by Chaozhou Tianyou Tea, guided by one simple belief — that good tea begins with deep respect for nature.
Here, the mountain speaks and we listen. Instead of chasing speed or yield, Shuangjiniangshan was slowly shaped over time with the land, not against it. The tea trees grow in the cool mountain air, surrounded by untouched forest. No herbicides, no chemical fertilizers, no synthetic growth aids. Just rain, soil, mist and time.
That dedication has not gone unnoticed. Today, the estate is certified organic by four of the world’s most respected bodies in China, the EU, the USA and Japan, making it one of the few thousand acre tea gardens in the world with such recognition.
But Shuangjiniangshan is more than a beautiful place to grow tea. It is also a place of ideas. From planting to processing, research to storytelling, everything is done right here within the estate. It is a full circle way of working, rooted in tradition but always looking forward.
Each tea that leaves the mountain carries the care of many hands and the quiet strength of the land itself. Every leaf is picked, processed and tasted with purpose. Each batch goes through careful grading and quality checks, not because it is required, but because we believe you should taste only what is true.
We call this feeling 安心 ĀN XĪN — a quiet trust that what you are drinking is not only delicious but pure. At shuangjiniangshan, tea is not just made. It is grown with patience, crafted with heart and offered with honesty. One cup at a time.
Growing in Harmony with Nature
Our commitment goes beyond clean cultivation. It is about
building a sustainable ecosystem where tea and nature thrive
together.
The Shuangjiniangshan high mountain organic tea garden is a forest-style estate where tea grows within the embrace of native woodland. Surrounded by a high percentage of original forest cover, every tea tree here grows as part of a living ecosystem.
This forest-integrated approach is a new model of sustainable agriculture. Unlike traditional tea plantations, it blends tea cultivation with the surrounding forest, placing a greater emphasis on ecological balance and long-term sustainability.
Here, tea trees grow alongside a diversity of native plants and trees. Together, they form a self-sustaining micro-ecosystem where everything coexists in quiet harmony.
What makes a forest tea garden truly special is its unique ecological environment.
The tea trees here benefit greatly from the protection of the surrounding forest. The tall trees offer natural shade, shielding the tea leaves from harsh direct sunlight. This gentle environment helps preserve the tenderness of the leaves and enhances their smooth, delicate mouthfeel.
At the same time, the rich biodiversity of the forest contributes organic matter back into the soil, further nourishing the tea plants and elevating the overall quality of the tea. It's a quiet, natural cycle, where the forest nurtures the tea, and the tea reflects the vitality of the forest.
High Elevation
Not all organic Dancong
teas are high mountain organic Dancong teas
At Shuangjiniangshan, the highest peak reaches 1036 meters. The tea gardens stretch across altitudes between 800 and 1000 meters, making this a true high mountain Dancong tea estate. Here, the air is crisp and clean, the mountains are shrouded in mist, and the sunlight filters gently through the clouds. Large temperature differences between day and night, combined with rich mountain soil, create the perfect environment for slow, healthy growth.
Tea trees in this kind of environment grow more slowly, allowing nutrients to accumulate over time. The result is a fuller mouthfeel, deeper character, and greater richness in every cup.
Rich Aroma and Unique Complexity
High mountain organic Dancong tea owes much of its signature
fragrance to the biodiversity of its environment. Tea trees
grow side by side with native plants, absorbing and exchanging
subtle compounds in the air and soil. This creates an
incredibly layered aroma — floral, fruity, and honeyed, all
delicately interwoven.
A Deep and Lingering Taste
Grown slowly at elevation, the roots of the tea trees dig deep
into the mineral-rich soil. The leaves that emerge are dense
with flavor, producing a tea that is full-bodied, smooth, and
long-lasting on the palate. The aftertaste is generous and
clear — a taste that lingers, just like the mist on the
mountain.
We pursue not just purity, but the highest expression of quality.
Volcanic Soil with Natural Minerals
Grown in mineral-rich volcanic soil, shuangjiniangshan tea is
naturally high in selenium
Shuangjiniangshan sits on the remains of an ancient volcanic
dome.
Two main types of volcanic rock, tuff breccia and rhyolitic
tuff, form the foundation of its unique terroir.
Volcanic soil is rich in minerals and trace elements that support healthy tea growth. It contains essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and selenium, all of which help meet the needs of tea plants.
The porous nature of volcanic rock gives the soil excellent aeration. This helps tea tree roots breathe and grow more effectively. Healthy root systems allow the plants to absorb water and nutrients more efficiently, leading to improved yield and better quality tea.
The soil also has a balanced pH level, typically between 5.5 and 6.5, which is ideal for tea cultivation. This slightly acidic range improves the plants' ability to absorb and make use of nutrients efficiently.
We pursue not only purity but a distinct sense of place.
